Supplying hunters in the Deep South with special purpose duck hunting boats is what got this company started. We currently offer hunters a special purpose “rice” boat. This style boat been used in rice fields of Mississippi and Arkansas by the crew at Southern Duck boats for a few seasons with great success. The “rice” boat is used as a shallow water layout boat allowing the hunter to hide in shallow water with very little cover. Being made from an all aluminum design lets the hunter leave the boat outside all season with no maintenance issues. Our “rice” boat can be pulled to the area of the field the ducks are using by 4-wheeler or can be powered with a small outboard motor for short distance runs to and from the hunting area. This has proved itself a valuable tool over the past few seasons, giving us the versatility we’ve needed to change locations and setup as the opportunity presented itself.
For the spring of 2005 Southern Duck Boats will expand it’s offerings of specialty duck boats with a 14 foot aluminum Sneak Boat. This is a specialty duck hunting boat used as a boat for transportation of hunters and equipment to your hunting spot, as well as being used as a boat blind. This traditional style boat has been in use by duck hunters for many years. Its low profile design has proven itself over the years as an excellent choice from open water hunting to backwater flooded timber. Traditionally built from a glass over wood construction, Southern Duck Boats saw a need in our hunting community for a maintenance free aluminum version of this style boat. We have worked with our boat builder for many months to bring this boat to the market. We at Southern Duck Boats are very excited about this offering and hope to fill other hunter’s needs for an all almuminum Sneak Boat.
In the summer of 2005 Southern Duck boats plans to increase it’s offerings of specialty duck boats with the introduction of several new all aluminum designs. Some of the boats on the drawing board are a “pumpkin seed” style layout boat for open water, and a sculling boat. We are very excited about these boats as well, so check back with us periodically as we work to bring these boats to the public later this year.
For us here at Southern Duck Boats customer service is our number 1 priority. It is our goal to make every customers satisfied.
